Pal-Do World Market Korean Grocery is a well-established Korean supermarket tucked into the busy commercial stretch along S Tacoma Way in Lakewood. It serves as more than just a grocery store — it acts like a cultural crossroads for locals craving authentic Korean, and even a range of other Asian, ingredients.

The store’s spacious layout, with its tall ceilings, creates an open atmosphere where browsing feels like a small expedition into Korean culinary culture. Shoppers often find themselves exploring unfamiliar products and ingredients, encouraged by the store’s broad and diverse selection. The presence of kitchenware alongside food items suggests it caters to both everyday cooks and those interested in traditional Korean cooking methods.

One feature that stands out to visitors is a small food court area, reminiscent of an authentic Korean café setting. It’s here that you can watch snacks like freshly made taiyaki—those warm, fish-shaped pastries—being prepared on site. This adds a lively and sensory layer to the shopping experience, inviting customers to linger and sample rather than just grab and go.

The store draws a varied crowd: families stocking up on staples, adventurous food lovers eager to try new Asian ingredients, and local Korean and Asian communities seeking familiar flavors. It is especially convenient if you’re looking for specialty items that can be hard to find elsewhere—even something as specific as goat meat for traditional dishes. The staff, known for being polite and helpful, contribute to a welcoming environment, important for those navigating new foods or recipes.

Weekdays, particularly mid-mornings to early afternoons, might be the best time to visit if you want a relaxed shopping experience without the weekend bustle. The market functions as a practical hub for cooking at home but also as a cultural touchpoint that subtly introduces elements of Korean life and flavors to the wider Lakewood area.

If anyone is looking for goat in the area, this is the place to go to right now! I was searching for goat to make Curry goat and I had found a butcher out in Yelm, but they were going to close. So I searched for goat near me and the maps said there was goat mentioned at this store in the past but I couldn't find any reviews on it. So here it is! As of August 29th, 2025, they were stocked on "Black Goat" farmed in Australia. I will put a picture for reference.

I accidentally found this store on google Maps and decided to give it a try. It's a fairly big building with tall ceilings. I appreciated their food court as it looked as authentic korean cafe. They have a wonderful selection of korean food products, and they even cook fish cookies right in front of customers and serve them hot and yummy. A little section of korean kitchenware is a plus as well. I think that the only drawback is that the store is not all clean and pristine. It could use a layer of fresh paint and some renovations. Overall I was happy with the visit and purchased plenty. I will definitely come back again.

I had a very unusual experience when visiting this store. It turns out that there are so many products that I have never seen or tried in my life! The store has a very special atmosphere of a culture that was previously unknown to me, and it is a very interesting experience. I really want to try something new and unusual. The staff at the cash registers were very polite and friendly.

The store was well-organized and offered a wide variety of ingredients, so I took my time shopping. I focused on discounted items at H Mart as well as the promotions available here. After comparing prices, I found that there wasn’t a significant difference overall. Additionally, there are other Korean stores nearby, making it a convenient area to browse around and explore different shops.

I've been going to this place since I was a kid (20+ years). It's more expensive than Boo Han, but cheaper than H Mart. It has a huge selection of products that vary from Korean (majority), Japanese, Vietnamese, etc. The great thing about this place is that there are restaurants and a bakery inside. It's kind of a one stop shop for all things asian. I will continue to be a customer here, until the end of my days ! The parking lot can get crowded and busy, so be careful.
